From Mayor Bellona – March 18, 2020
To Village Residents,
First and foremost, this pandemic is one of the most significant and challenging events in my lifetime. I have tried to put in perspective with other historical events without success. In this moment, I remember to follow my Mother and Father’s advice to be positive, work for solutions with others, and to care for and support each other.
At this moment, we are following the lead of Oneida County. They are the ones with the health professionals and the organization to meet this crisis. Please see https://ocgov.net/health/coronavirus for the latest. In addition, the CDC has put out personal guidelines that we should be following regarding personal health measures to be taken.
Our Village of Clinton Office is closed physically in Lumbard Hall, but the Village Clerk and Deputy Clerk are continuing to conduct the official work of the Village. If you need to contact the Village office for any reason, please do so by email or phone.
The Village Department of Public Works continues to provide essential functions to keep our water system safe by performing all the required daily, weekly and monthly testing requirements. The waste water treatment plant personnel continue to operate in the same manner. The DPW will continue to keep our infrastructure operational and safe. I would ask that Village residents avoid putting green waste on the curb or the street during this emergency. Please retain it in the back yard to avoid clogging up the Village streets and storm sewer system. Essential garbage service pickup by our contractor will continue (place on curb Monday after 5pm for Tuesday morning pickup). I am asking Village residents not to put out household trash for the Wednesday pickup during this emergency.
